Hz. Mevlana’nın Mesnevi’sinden bir hikaye:
Adamın biri kaçarak nefes nefese bir eve sığındı. Korkudan benzi sararmıştı, tir tir titriyordu. Ev sahibi acıyarak sordu: “Hayrola yeğenim, sana ne oldu, neden kaçıyorsun, niçin böyle korkudan titriyorsun?” Adam titremeye devam ederek “Zalim padişahı eğlendirmek için sokaklardaki bütün eşekleri topluyorlar.” dedi.
Ev sahibi bu işe şaştı, “A zavallı, eşekleri topluyorsa toplasınlar, sen eşek değilsin ya, bundan sana ne? Sen neden kaygılanıyorsun?” dedi. Adam korku dolu gözlerle cevap verdi: “Bu işe öyle girişmişler, öyle kızışmışlar ki beni bile eşek diye yakalarlarsa şaşmam! Eşek yakalamaya öylesine odaklanmışlar ki hiçbir şeyi fark etmiyorlar!”
Bir şeyi fark etmeyen kişiler başımıza geçerlerse eşeğin sahibini de eşek diye götürürler mi, götürürler! Fakat bizim şehrimizin padişahı, abes iş yapmaz. Onun temyiz (iyiyi kötüden ayırma) özelliği vardır. O her şeyi duyar, her şeyi görür.
Adam ol da eşek tutanlardan korkma. Ey akıllı kimse, eşek değilsin sen, ürkme.
Haşa, senin durağın ahır değildir. Sen, bir iş için ahırdasın ama gökyüzünden de yücesin sen, yıldızlardan da. Her ahıra giden eşek değildir. (Mesnevi, c. V, beyit: 2538-2550)
AÇIKLAMA
Bu hikayenin eşek yerine deve ve tilkinin geçtiği çeşitli versiyonları var. “Tilki, tilkiliğini ispat edinceye kadar post elden gider” atasözü bu halk hikayesine dayanır. Hikaye oldukça absürt ama Mesnevi yorumcularının derin anlamlar yüklediği görülür. Birkaç örnek:
Ey insan, ruhuna bakılırsa eşek değilsin fakat eğer ruhunu ihmal edip de nefsine hizmet edersen o vakit eşek olursun ve seni tilkiler aldatıp ölüme sürükler. O halde adam ol, insan-ı kamilin huzurundan kaçma!
Hz. Mevlana şöyle der: “Ben insanlara faydam dokunsun diye bu dünya zindanında kalmışım. Yoksa hapishane nerede, ben nerede? Kimin malını çalmışım?”
Hz. Mevlana’nın dünyaya bakışı genellikle böyledir. Şu hadis meşhurdur: “Dünya, mü’mine hapishane, kafire cennettir.”
Peki bu problemli bir görüş sayılmaz mı? İslam dünyasının ekonomik bakımdan zayıf olması, sanayi ve teknoloji bakımından geri kalması bu yüzden değil midir?
DÜNYA NEDİR?
Acaba kötülenen, terk edilmesi istenen dünya ile kastedilen nedir? Hemen belirtelim ki olumsuz olarak gösterilen “dünya”dan murat; arz, yeryüzü, üzerinde yaşadığımız toprak parçası değildir. “Dünya seni Rabbinden alıkoyan şey” sözü meşhurdur.
Hz. Mevlana sorar ve cevabını verir: Dünya nedir? Dünya Allah’tan gafil olmaktır. Kumaş, para, ölçüp tartarak ticaret etmek ve kadın dünya değildir, der ve şu ölçüyle noktayı koyar: Geminin altındaki su ise gemiye, geminin yüzmesine yardımcıdır. Su geminin içine girerse gemiyi batırır.
Burada sudan maksat maddi istek ve arzulardır. Ölçü şu olmalıdır: İyi bir insan her türlü maddi, sınai, ticari faaliyet ve çalışmanın içinde bulunabilir, bulunmalıdır. Ancak hiçbir zaman mala, paraya, servete taparcasına bağlı olmamalıdır. Şüphesiz bu bir iç eğitimini gerektirir. Doğru din anlayışının, doğru dindarlığın önemi bu noktada karşımıza çıkar.
