Halep hakkında yazacağım hiç aklıma gelmezdi. Ankara’daki vahşi patlamanın amaçlarından biri Türkiye’yi tedirgin etmekse, öteki de Halep’le bağlarımızı koparmaktır.
Halep coğrafi, kültürel ve ekonomik bakımdan Antep’in, Urfa’nın bir devamıdır. Halep’te çok sayıda Türkmen yaşamaktadır. Halep halen, birçok Türk mimari ve sanat eserinin bulunduğu ve sokaklarında Türkçenin konuşulduğu bir şehirdir. Nüfus ve kültür yapısı itibariyle Güneydoğu Anadolu’nun devamı niteliğinde ve Kilis’ten sadece 60 km ileridedir.
Türkülerimize bu durum yansır:
“Atım kalk gidelim Halep haneden/ Cümlenin rızkını verir Yaradan/ Yemini kestireyim Eğri Kule’den/ Bu gece Kilis’te yatalım atım”
Halep, Anadolu’dan daha önce Türkleşti. 7’nci yüzyıldan itibaren Oğuz boyları Irak ve Suriye’de görünmeye başladı. Yoğun Türk göçleri 10’uncu ve 11’inci yüzyıllarda gerçekleşti. Türklerin yerleşimi Selçukluların bölgeye gelmesiyle devam etti. Buradaki Türk boyları, 1096 yılında Haçlı seferleri başladığında Selahattin Eyyubi komutasındaki Müslümanlarla birleşerek Haçlılara karşı bölgeyi savundu.
Halep Türkmenleri’nin içerisinde Beydilli, Bayat, Avşar ve Peçenek gibi Oğuz toplulukları vardı. Halep’teki Türk varlığı sayesinde şehir, Osmanlı teşkilatına kolayca uyum sağladı. Halep Osmanlı karakteriyle, diğer Arap şehirlerinin birçoğundan daha ağır basan tipik bir İslam-Türk şehri haline geldi.
Bu etki dönemin mimari eserlerinin inşa tarzında, mutfağında, hatta müziğinde dahi görüldü. 16’ncı yüzyılda Halep Sancağı’nda bine yakın yerleşim yerinin ismi Türkçe idi. Şair Nabi hayatının 22 yılını Halep’te geçirdi.
17’nci yüzyıl, bir Osmanlı eyaleti olarak Halep’in nüfusunun ve ticari zenginliğinin en yüksek noktaya ulaştığı dönemi teşkil eder. I. Dünya Savaşı öncesinde Halep, İstanbul ve Kahire’den sonra Osmanlı Devleti’nin üçüncü büyük şehri durumundaydı.
Halep Mevlevihanesi meşhurdur. Buraya Cumhuriyeti müteakip Atatürk’ün isteğiyle Konya’dan M. Bakır Çelebi şeyh olarak gönderildi. Burası 1925’te tekkelerin kaldırılmasından sonra Mevleviliği resmen devam ettiren kurumdur. 1944’te kapatılıncaya kadar Halep’te Türkçenin ve Türk kültürünün merkezliğini yaptı.
“Halep oradaysa arşın burada” deriz. Karacoğlan “Koca Halep derler yiğit vatanı” diye seslenir.
Anneler çocuklarını Halepli ninnilerle uyutur:
“Elime aldım kelebi/ Dolaştım Şam’ı Halep’i/ Çorum’da yatan Elvan Çelebi/ O da sana himmet etsin/ Allah sana ömür versin, ninni…”
Aşık Garip’le birlikte Halep’i yad ederiz:
“İşte geldim gidiyorum/ Şen olasın Halep şehri/ Çok ekmeğin tuzun yedim/ Helal eyle Halep şehri.”
Şimdi Halep Rus bombalarıyla harap ediliyor. Dileğimiz, bahtının dönmesi ve ‘şen’ olmaya devam etmesidir.
