Diriliş Ertuğrul dizisi Osmanlı Devleti’nin kurulmasından önceki dönemi konu alır. Anadolu’daki yerleşme mücadelemizin tarihi anlatılır. Dünyaya yüzyıllar boyunca hükmetmiş bir devletin temellerinin nasıl atıldığı, bu sırada ne zorluklar yaşandığı dile getirilir. Orta Asya’dan getirdiğimiz, İslamla yoğrulmuş Türk töresinin gücü görülür.
Dizide Ertuğrul Gazi’nin akıl hocalığını ve yol göstericiliğini, İlyas Fakih, büyük mutasavvıf Muhyiddin Arabi ve Kurdoğlu yapmaktadır.
Seyirci ilgisini diri tutmak için dizide casuslar, hainler ve şövalyeler, entrika, tehlike, ölüm, yoldaşlık, fedakarlık, cesaret, yiğitlik ve büyüleyici bir aşk var.
Diziyi başarılı kılan asıl sebepler: Rol dağılımı isabetli; kostümler, mekanlar, silahlar, atlar güzel ve çekimler başarılı. Dizi durağan değil, akıcı ve sürükleyici.
Tarihe birebir uygun mu, tartışılır. O devirler hakkında elimizde yeterince bilgi ve belge yok. Ama hayli emek verildiği inkar edilemez.
Dizide birçok hikmetli söz (replik) dikkati çeker: “Yiğidin bakışı, korkağın kılıcından keskindir. / Bir canım var, o da Allah’tan emanet / Bir Türk son nefesini vermeden son söz söylenmemiştir! / Biz seve seve can veririz, lakin bir karış toprak vermeyiz! / Anadolu şaha kalkar ise tüm İslam alemi ayağa kalkacaktır.”
