Evvelki hafta vefat eden Doğan Cüceloğlu’nu kamuoyu konferansları ve kitaplarıyla tanır. Kendisi halkını seven, insanımızın irfanına hayran, yerli ve milli düşünceye saygılı birisidir. Hayattan alınmış olumlu davranış örneklerini sade bir üslupla anlatır ve yazar. Şu ifadeleri ondan özetledim:

“Ben on yaşındaydım; Silifke’de bir serçe kuşunu sapan taşı ile vurmaya çalışıyordum. Okuma yazma bilmeyen, Toros köylerinden birinden olan analığım (annem öleli altı ay olmuştu, babam onunla evlenmişti) ‘Vurma yavrum!’ dedi. “Niye,” dedim, parmak kadar küçücük bir kuş!”

Analığım: “Canın büyüğü, küçüğü olur mu? Allah her birine bir can vermiş! Vurma yavrum, günahtır!” dedi. Vurmadım.”

1980’li senelerde Doğan Cüceloğlu bir gün fakültemize gelmişti, bu hadiseyi orada anlattı. Ardından, bu ifadeyi analığının irfanı ve milletimize sinmiş Tasavvuf kültürüyle izah etmişti. Daha sonra bunu birçok yerde söyledi ve yazdı.

EROL GÜNGÖR’ÜN ARKADAŞI
Doğan Cüceloğlu’nun genç yaşta kaybettiğimiz Prof. Erol Güngör’le iyi arkadaş olduklarını Yeni Şafak Pazar ekinden öğreniyoruz. İkisinin yolları Prof. Mümtaz Turhan (1908-1969) sayesinde kesişir. M. Turhan İstanbul Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi’nde Tecrübi Psikoloji kürsüsünü kuran bilim adamıdır. Erol Güngör (1938-1983) Hukuk Fakültesi’nde okurken Fethi Gemuhluoğlu’nun yönlendirmesiyle Prof. Dr. Mümtaz Turhan’a asistan oldu. Cüceloğlu’nu ise lisede edebiyat öğretmeni Cahit Okurer Turhan’a göndermiştir.

Cüceloğlu anlatır: ” Ben Atatürk Lisesi’nde Cahit Okurer’in öğrencisiydim. Bir seferinde hoca öğrencilerle sohbet ederken bana ‘Sen ne olmak istiyorsun?’ dedi. Mühendis olmak istiyordum. ‘Neden?’ dedi. Ben Silifke’de 11 çocuklu bir ailenin çocuğuydum. 1955’li yıllardan bahsediyorum. Silifke eşrafından birinin kızında gönlüm var. O yıllarda mühendislikte iyi para kazanılıyor, prestijli de bir meslek, mühendis olursam kızı bana verirler diye düşünüyorum. Tabi bunları hocama söyleyemedim. ‘Vatana memlekete hizmet için’ dedim. Hocamız, ‘Vatana millete hizmet etmek istiyorsan bilim adamı olmak istemez misin? Mesela psikoloji alanında. Hem bireyin hem toplumun sorunlarıyla ilgili araştırma yapar kitap yazarsın, buna ihtiyacımız var’ dedi. Gözümün içine bakarak bunları söyledi. Ben o bakıştan, ‘yapabilirsin istersen’ mesajını aldım.”

Cüceloğlu hocasının sözünü dinler ve ondan aldığı bir tavsiye mektubuyla Mümtaz Turhan’ın kapısını çalar. Fakülteyi bitirdikten sonra Amerika’da doktora yapar. Orada bir süre çalıştıktan sonra Türkiye’ye döner.

KİTAPLARI
Doğan Cüceloğlu’nun birçok kitabı var. Kolay okunan ve eğlenceli bir üsluba sahip olduğu için bu eserlerinim ekserisi defalarca basılmıştır. Damdan Düşen Psikolog kendisiyle yapılmış bir söyleşidir ve çok renkli olan hayat hikayesini anlatır. Öteki kitaplarından birkaçının isimleri şöyledir:
