İzmir Fuarı’nın 70’li yıllarını hatırlarım.
Bugün Kültürpark denen alanda, 20 Ağustos-20 Eylül arasında tam bir ay sürerdi. Uluslararası fuarcılık faaliyetleri yanında eğlence ve kültür gösterileri önemli bir yer tutardı.
Sürenin uzunluğu bilhassa yabancı katılımcılar bakımından uygun değildi. Onun için zamanla gittikçe kısaldı. Son yıllarda fuarın uluslararası ayağı yeni yapılan fuar alanına taşındı. Bildiğim kadarıyla eğlence ve kültür faaliyetlerinin merkezi gene Kültürpark’tır.
Eski fuarlarda meşhur komedi tiyatroları, devrin popüler ses sanatçıları Zeki Müren’ler, Emel Sayın’lar, Gönül Yazar’lar birer birer boy gösterir ve büyük alaka görürdü.
Fuara giriş ücretliydi. İzmir ve çevre illerden gelenler uzun kuyruklara rağmen akın akın içeri girerdi.
YERLİ YÖNÜ ZAYIF
Eski fuarları geri getirmek mümkün değil elbet. Ama halkımızın fuar alışkanlığı devam ediyor. Sıcak yaz günlerinin serin akşamlarını açık havada eğlenerek ve bilgilenerek geçirmek istiyor. Bu ihtiyacı karşılamak üzere İZFAŞ’ın hazırladığı on günlük programlara baktım. Açıkhava tiyatroları, çim konserleri, sokak gösterileri ve diğer etkinlikler başlığı altında zengin bir seri yer alıyor.
Ne var ki etkinliklerde yerli ve milli çizginin ihmal edildiğini görülüyor. Mesela sokak gösterileri programlarında yabancı isimli gruplar çoğunlukta. Belki gençlere hitap ediyordur ama halk çoğunluğun anladığını sanmıyorum.

ZEYBEK HASRETİ
Elbette içimize kapanıp kalmayacağız.
Evrensel kültüre açık olacağız. Ama şu şartla:
Tıpkı bir pergel gibi, bir ayağımız yerli ve milli kültüre sıkıca basarak, öteki ayağımızla bütün dünyayı dolaşacağız. Ne yazık ki İzmir belediyelerinin kültürde oldum olası yerli ve milli ayağının zayıf olduğu bir gerçektir. Müslüman mahallesinde salyangoz satma alışkanlığı devam ediyor.
Ege’nin ve İzmir’in en büyük değerlerinden biri zeybek oyunlarıdır. Kıyafeti, müziği, gökleri kucaklamak isteyen figürleriyle zeybek oyunları her zaman ilgi çeker. İzmir’de çeşitli yörelerin zeybek oyunlarını sergileyecek kaliteli bir ekibe hasretiz.
Bereket bu defa program içinde Selçuk ve Ödemiş belediyelerinin zeybek ekipleri bir iki defa yer almış, o kadar.
