Güneştekin bu defa İzmir Kültürpark’ta (eski Fuar) bir sergi açtı. Adı: Gavur Mahallesi.
Sergiyi gezdim. Çok renkli, hayli emek verilmiş, modern resim denebilecek, üç boyutlu tablolar çoğunlukta.
Bilgi veren görevlinin ifadesine göre tablolar, eski mitolojik ögeler taşıyor. Güneş imgesi ve parlak renkler dikkati çekiyor.

Zihniyet olarak; Azra Erhat ve Halikarnas Balıkçısı gibilerin temsil ettiği eski “Anadolu Medeniyeteleri”ni öne çıkarmak isteyen bir anlayışa sahip denebilir. Bu zihniyettekiler, bin senedir bu toprakların hakimi olan Selçuklu ve Osmanlı kültürünü görmezden gelme özelliğine sahipler.
Güneştekin’in sergi için “Gavur Mahallesi” ismini neden seçtiğini bilmiyorum.
Görevliye sordum, Kültürpark’ın olduğu yer eskiden bu isimle anılırmış, dedi.
Bu bana hiç de tatminkar gelmedi. İlgi çeksin, sansasyonel olsun, bazı olumsuz çağrışımlar yapsın diye bu ismin verildiğini düşünüyorum.
“Gavur” kelimesi gayrı müslimler için kullanılır ve daha çok demografik ve etnik bir anlam taşır. Aşağıdaki Ermeni yazarlarımızda da görüldüğü gibi, biz “gavurlarımız”la asırlar boyu barış içinde birlikte yaşadık. Bu kelimeden bir “mağdur” ve “öteki” üretmek boşunadır.

Ermeni vatandaşımız Mıgırdıç Margosyan’ın (1938-2022) Gavur Mahallesi adlı kitabı var. Sergiyi gezmeden bu kitabı getirtip okudum. Yazar Diyarbakır’ın Hançenek Mahallesi (Gavur Mahallesi)’nde doğmuş. 116 sayfalık kitabında 15 yaşına kadar kaldığı mahallesini ve 1940’ların Diyarbakır’ını, o günlerin sosyal ve ekonomik durumunu anlatır.
Yıllar önce başka bir Ermeni yazarımız Kirkor Ceyhan’ın (1926-1999) “Atını Nalladı Felek Düştü Peşimize” ve “Seferberlik Türküleriyle Büyüdüm” adlı kitaplarını okumuştum. Bu kitapların üçünün de yalın, samimi, sevecen ve sıcak bir dili var. Güneştekin’de hissedilen agresif ve irrite edici tavır bu kitaplarda görülmez.
Türkiye’de kültür ve sanat alanı büyük çoğunlukla sol ve milli kültürümüze mesafeli zihniyetin elindedir. Ahmet Güneştekin ve sergisini destekleyen İzmir Büyükşehir Belediyesi’nin de aynı anlayışta olduğu görülmektedir.
