Türkiye’de birçok alandaki büyük başarıların yanı sıra halledilemeyen küçük şeyler var. Bunlardan birisi de ortak mekanların kullanımı ve temizliğidir. Millet olarak umumi mekanları kullanma konusunda özensizliğimiz var, bu çok acıdır. Evinde o kadar temiz titiz olan bir halkın umumi mekanlardaki bu kayıtsızlığını anlamak mümkün değildir.
Piknik yerleri, parklar, sokaklar; çekirdek kabukları, pet şişeler ve poşetlerden geçilmez haldedir. Şırıl şırıl akan bir derenin kenarındaki tahta masalar üzerinde bırakılan çeşitli artıkları görünce kahrolmamak mümkün değildir.
Asfalttan geçen lüks bir arabanın camından yola sigara paketi veya meşrubat şişesin atıldığını görünce insanın çıldırası gelir.
Ben milletini seven ve beğenen biriyim, elbette pek çok meziyetlerimiz var. Ama bir o kadar da eksik ve zaaflarımız mevcut. Umumi mekanların kullanımı ve temizliği konusundaki duyarsızlığımız bunların başında gelir.
BEŞTEPE BAHÇESİ
9 Temmuz 2018 akşamı Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin ilk Başkan’ı Sayın Tayyip Erdoğan’ın, Beştepe tören alanında düzenlediği resepsiyona 6 bin kişi katıldı. Bunlardan biri de yazar Fatma Barbarosoğlu idi. İzlenimlerini kaleme aldığı yazısından bir bölüm şöyledir:
“İtina ile, zevk ile düzenlenmiş tören alanına davetliler gittikten sonra baktım. Gördüklerimden utandım. Yerler çöp içindeydi. Pet şişeler, kağıt mendiller, hediye paketinin içinden çıkarılıp açılmış ambalaj kağıtları.
Bunu yapanlar eğitimli kişiler. Tarihi ana tanık olmak için davet edilmiş Türkiye’nin yedi bölgesinden gelmiş kişiler.
Davet edildikleri ‘evin bahçesine’, tanık oldukları ‘tarihi an’a çöpünü bırakıp giden ‘bu insanlar’ın denizlere, ormanlara yapabileceklerini hayal bile edemiyorum.
Çevreye gösterdiğimiz ‘ilgi’ bizim aynamız. Aynaya düşen aksimiz mi? Gerisini yazmaya elim varmıyor.”
KİBRİT ÇÖPÜ
Çeşitli konularda yabancıların övülmesi ve örnek gösterilmesinden hiç hoşlanmam. Ama doğruya doğru, bu hususta bir misal vermekten kendimi alamayacağım.
Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam Mehmet Çınarlı Hisar dergisinde yazmıştı; arkadaşlarıyla birlikte yaptığı kısa bir İngiltere gezisi sırasında Londra’nın bir meydanında sigarasını yakar, kibrit çöpünü de yere bırakır. Arkasındaki bir İngiliz: “Bir şey düşürdünüz” diye ikaz eder. Çınarlı’nın canı sıkılır, alay edildiğini sanır. Sonraki günlerde çevrenin temizliği dikkatini çeker ve şöyle düşünür: Bir kibrit çöpünden dolayı beni ikaz eden kimse ciddi imiş, benimle alay etmemiş. Zira fark ettim ki burada yere bir şey atılmıyor, olsa olsa düşürülür.
Oysa bizim kültürümüzde çevre temizliği bir ibadettir. Yoldan geçenler takılıp düşmesin diye yerdeki bir taş veya başka madde kaldırılıp kenara konur. Biz böyle bir inancın ve kültürün mirasçısıyız. Ama bunu unutmuşuz.
Hz. Peygamber buyurur: “Yol üstünde bir ağaç dalı vardı, insanlara sıkıntı veriyordu. Adamın biri onu oradan kaldırdı, böylece cennete hak kazandı.”
