9 Eylül 2013 Fırat Yeni Asır 40

Yeşildere’den gelip Halkapınar’a dönünce 1558. sokağın başında Halkapınar Şehitliği bulunur. Bakımlı bir yeşil alanın ortasında mermer bir anıt yükselir. Üzerinde nefis bir sülüs hatla “Vatan ve Namus” yazar. Önünden hep araçla geçtiğimiz için dikkatimizi çekmez. Ancak milli bayramlarda ve 9 Eylül törenlerinde ziyaret edince hatırlarız. Oysa burası İzmir’in kurtuluşunda önemli bir noktadır.
Yunan ordusu 15 Mayıs 1919’da İzmir’i işgal etti. Şehir üç buçuk yıla yakın acı çekti. Artık sona yaklaşılmıştı. 26 Ağustos 1922’de Büyük Taarruz ile düşman ordusu dağıtıldı. 2 Eylül’de askerlerimiz Uşak’a girdi. Türk birlikleri İzmir’e doğru ilerledi.
İzmir Hükümet Konağı’na Türk bayrağını dikmekle görevlendirilenlerden biri Yüzbaşı Şerafettin’dir. 9 Eylül sabahı, emrindeki süvari birliğiyle Bornova’ya girdi. Halkapınar’a doğru ilerledi. Mersinli’yi geçtiler, bir Ruma ait un fabrikasından ateş edilmeye başlandı. Dört erimiz şehit oldu. Hemen oracıkta gömüldüler. Birlik yoluna devam etti ve Konak’a ulaştı. Sonra oraya bir şehitlik yapıldı, şehit erlerimizin isimleri mermere yazıldı: Akşehirli Mehmet Çavuş, Antalyalı İbrahim Hakkı Çavuş, Nevşehirli Seyit Ahmet, İzmirli Veyis.

ANIT VE ŞİİR
Zaferler, acılar ve sevinçler edebiyatla, şiirle, anıtlarla hatırlanır. Halkapınar Şehitleri’nin hatırasını Necmeddin Halil Onan (1902-1968) ebedileştirdi. “Halkapınar” başlıklı bu şiir, geçen yıl yazdığımız gibi hemen o günlerde değil de daha sonra yazılmış olmalı. Burada yatan şehitler güzel İzmir’i görmeye doyamadan hayata gözlerini yumdu. Şaire göre o şehitlerin kanlarıyla işgal yıllarının kirleri temizlenmiştir. Bu sebeple onların hürmetle anılmaları gerekir.
Şiirin birkaç dörtlüğü şöyledir:
“İzmir’e ilk önce kavuşmak için/ Ön safta koşanlar burda yatıyor/ Bu anda duyduğun gururu, için/ Onların döktüğü kanla tadıyor.
Hürmetle an burda güzel İzmir’i/ Görmeye doymadan göz yumanları/ Yıllarca yurdunu kaplayan kiri/ Kanıyla gideren kahramanları.
Onların mübarek yüreklerinde/ Dinmeyen hasretin remzidir bu taş/ Kalbinin en aziz olan yerinde/ Bu ulvi tahassür yansın vatandaş.
Çırpınan gönlünle bu kabr önünde/ Bir derin ibadet huşuuyle sus/ Karşında duruyor işte o gün de/ Kurtulan eserler: “Vatan ve Namus.”
