İzmir’de son dönem Rifai şeyhlerinin, Manisa’daki Rufai-Marifi Entekke dergahı pirlerinden icazetli olduğu görülür. Bunlardan biri de Burhan Baba (Burhaneddin Aktıhanoğu)dur.
Burhaneddin Bey 1925’te İzmir’de doğdu. Babası aslen Aydın’lı olup İzmir’in ilk Müslüman tüccarlarından Ahmet Hamdi Bey; annesi, kökleri Kırım Türklerine dayanan Rabia hanımdır.
Küçük Burhanettin ilkokulu Vali Kazım Paşa Mektebinde bitirdikten sonra Tilkilik Ortaokuluna kaydoldu ve orta üçüncü sınıfta kadar devam etti. Ancak fazla devamsızlık yaptığı için babası onu Aydın’a halasının yanına gönderdi ve ortaokulu orada bitirdi. Daha sonra İzmir Ticaret Lisesine kaydoldu.
Baba Ahmet Hamdi Bey’in Basmane’de 3 katlı büyük bir konağı vardı. Basmane eskiden İzmir’in en muteber yeri ve şehrin önemli ailelerinin oturduğu bir semtti. Tren garı ve otogar Basmane semtindeydi. Buna ilaveten İzmir Fuarının açılmasından sonra otel ihtiyacı arttı. Eski köşkler otele çevrildi. Böylece oteller sokağı oluştu. Özellikle fuar mevsiminde otellerde yer bulunmazdı.
1940 Yılında Ahmet Hamdi Bey, konağını otel haline getirdi, Şen Otel ismiyle otelcilik yapmaya başladıysa da 1942 yılında vefat etti. Bunun üzerine Burhanettin Aktıhanoğlu 17 yaşında ailesinin sorumluluğunu üstlenmek durumunda kaldı. Bir aile büyüğünün desteği ile Şen Otel’i işletmeye başladı. Bu otelin Burhan Baba’nın hayatında önemli bir yeri vardır.
1970’lerde otel satıldıktan sonra Burhan Baba, kardeşi ile birlikte işlettikleri Hisar Çeyiz’de çalışmaya başladı. Önceleri Bornova’da, daha sonra Karşıyaka’da oturan Burhan Baba’nın halen 3 kız evladı ve 5 torunu vardır. 2 Ocak 2002’de vefat etti kabri Karşıyaka Doğançay Mezarlığındadır.
MANEVİ YÖNÜ
Genç Burhaneddin manevi arayış içinde olan biriydi. Manisa Entekkeliler Rufai dergahı postnişini Hüseyin Kemalettin Efendi’ye (1888-1951) intisap etti, sene 1947. Kemaleddin Efendi 1951’de Hakk’a yürüyünce rehberi olan başka bir Marifi Rufai Taceddin Dede himayesinde manevi eğitimini sürdürdü. Daha sonra dergahın yeni şeyhi Ali Fevzi Bayoğlu (1907-1988) tarafından,Turgutlu halifesi Mehmet Ali Bütüner (1897-1971) vasıtasıyla kendisine irşat icazeti verildi.
Burhan Baba hoşsohbet ve yardımsever biriydi. Yoksulları, muhtaçları kollar, onların bir şekilde ev bark sahibi olmasına ön ayak olurdu. Kendisi bu tür iyilik ve yardımlarını gizli yapmaya dikkat eder, duyulmasını istemezdi.
ŞEN OTEL
Basmane semtindeki Şen Otel’e çok farklı kimseler gelirdi. Bazan evinden kaçan kızlar veya yolunu şaşıran kadınlar da olabilirdi. Burhan Baba onlara dikkat eder, nasihatte bulunur, ailelerine dönmelerini sağlardı.
Şen Otel, dedeler, pirler, şeyhler, erenler ve fakirler mekanı idi. Burhan Baba hiçbir karşılık, takdir ve teşekkür beklemeden, gelen gidene hizmet etti. Bir sohbetinde şöyle der:
“Ben çok eren dinledim, 32 sene otelcilik yaptım Basmane’de. Anadolu’nun bütün erenleri, dedesi, seyyidi, piri, mürşidi, babası hep geldi. Birlikte yedik içtik, yattık kalktık. Onları senelerce dinledim, bir birikim hasıl oldu. Bu birikimden şimdi gençlere vermek lazım, bu bizim vefa borcumuzdur.” (Devamı cumaya)
