Üniversitelerimizin pek çoğu sıkıntılı günler yaşadı, yaşıyor. Bunun son yıllardaki başlıca sebebi FETÖ belasıdır. Bu örgütle bir şekilde bağlantısı olanlar ayıklanırken, bir takım yanlış veya asılsız ihbarlar sonucu çok sayıda öğretim elemanı mağdur oldu. Haksız yere açığa alınanları birçoğu görevlerine dönmüşse de bu hadisenin yaptığı tahribat, hocalar arasında ciddi sıkıntılara yol açtı. Huzurlu bir öğretim ortamı kayboldu.
Bütün bunların telafisi için zamana ve dirayetli yöneticilere ihtiyaç vardır.
Ben kendi üniversitem olan Dokuz Eylül ile Ege Üniversitesi’ni kısmen yakından tanıyorum. Her ikisinde de rektör değişiklikleri tam da uğursuz 15 Temmuz hadiselerinden sonra gerçekleşti. Gerek seçimle, gerekse atama ile gelen rektörler beklenen huzur ortamını sağlamada zorlandılar. Zaten sık sık rektör değişikliği oldu. Şimdilerde ise sevindirici gelişmelerle karşı karşıyayız.
REKTÖR NECDET BUDAK
Ege Üniversitesi Rektörlüğüne 9 ay önce atanan Prof. Necdet Budak başarılı bir yönetim sergiliyor. Kapalı kapılar ardında kararlar verme yerine, bütün öğretim elemanlarını bir araya getirip, onları dinliyor, fikirlerini alıyor. Bu tavır en azından psikolojik bir rahatlama getirir, mevcut yönetimi benimsemeyi sağlar. Netice olarak 64 bin civarında öğrencisi olan Ege Üniversitesi’nde daha huzurlu bir ortam doğduğu söylenebilir. Bu elbette eğitim öğretim kalitesine de yansıyacaktır.
Necdet Budak alanında başarılı bir ziraat profesörüdür. Uzun yıllar Amerika’da, daha sonra Hollanda’da mesleğiyle ilgi çalışmalarda bulundu.
Necdet Hoca 2 dönem AK Parti milletvekilliği yaptı. Bu durum başlangıçta bazı tereddütlere yol açmışsa da gösterdiği yönetim başarısı, endişeleri yok etti. Rektörlüğünde politikacı şapkasını dışarıda bırakmayı bildi.
REKTÖR NÜKHET HOTAR
Benzer bir durum Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi için de geçerli. Bir ay kadar önce rektörlüğe Prof. Nükhet Hotar atandı. Nükhet Hanım öğrenimini ve bütün kariyerini Dokuz Eylül’de tamamladı. Tam 4 dönem Ak Parti milletvekilliği yaptı. Parti yönetiminde üst görevlerde bulundu. Branşı olan Çalışma Ekonomisine uygun şekilde, Devletin sosyal politikaları alanında projeler geliştirdi, bunları takip etti.
Necdet Budak örneğinde olduğu gibi, Nükhet Hanım da siyasi kimliğini dışarıda bırakarak, 80 binden fazla öğrenciye sahip Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi’nde başarılı bir yönetim sergileyecek görünüyor.
Rektörlük görevine daha yeni başladı. İlk icraatları ümit verici. Bütün kesimleri kucaklayıcı, görev dağıtımında öncelikle ehliyet, liyakat ve sağlam karakterli kişileri seçeceği anlaşılıyor. Siyasi geçmişindeki 16 yıllık tecrübesi, birikimi ve insan tanıma özelliği, rektörlüğü konusunda bir artı değer sayılır.
Kendisinden her kesimi kucaklayıcı, atamalarda aidiyetten çok çalışkanlığa, liyakate ve sağlam karaktere önem veren bir yönetim tarzı bekliyoruz.
Üniversiteler ülkemizin beyni ve kalbi mesabesindedir. Onların başarısı ve huzuru toplumun huzuru demektir. Bu düşüncelerle Prof. Dr. Nükhet Hotar’a başarılar dilerim.
